Step into the past and experience one of Rochester’s most iconic treasures! Join us for an inspiring, guided journey through historic Mount Hope Cemetery, a sprawling landscape filled with extraordinary stories, stunning art, and rich local history.

Led by expert docent Sally Millick, this immersive walk brings history to life as we visit the final resting places of legendary changemakers Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass as well as several historic Rochester Rotary Award recipients, including Xerox founder Joseph C. Wilson, newspaper publisher Frank Gannett and others who carried Rotary’s commitment to service into Rochester’s history.  Along the way, you’ll uncover fascinating insights into local heritage, unique geology, Victorian architecture, and the hidden symbolism behind the monuments.

Cost: $15 per person

Tour Details: 1 hr. 45 min., just over a 1-mile walking route, frequent stops over paved roads and uneven terrain, wi-fi microphone used by docent, wear comfortable walking shoes!
