Join us on Wednesday, June 10th, to celebrate Daniel M. Meyers, the 87th recipient of the Rochester Rotary Award, the oldest and most prestigious civic award in Rochester.

The award recognizes community members who personify Rotary’s “Service Above Self” motto and who demonstrate exceptional community spirit, touch the lives of many citizens, serve as a positive role model, and share wisdom and knowledge to empower others.

Rochester Rotary is honoring Dan for his dedication to our community for over 55 years. Dan has contributed his leadership and passion to numerous organizations, including Causewave Community Partners, Empowering People’s Independence (EPI), EquiCenter, Fringe Festival, George Eastman Museum, Health Reach for the Homeless, Nazareth University, St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry, InterVol, Rochester Regional Health, St. John Fisher University, and the Waldron Rise Foundation, to name just a few. Working together with others, he has added his strength to make good things happen for many people.

The first Rochester Rotary Award was presented to Sol Heumann in 1936. At the time, Rochester Rotary Club was credited with inaugurating the modern custom of formal recognition of those whose contributions to the public have marked them for special distinction and honor. This year marks the 87th presentation of the Award.
