AIM Photonics At the 10 Year Mark

Photonic integrated circuits are found throughout every AI data center and in your phones and tablets. In the near future, they will be found in quantum sensors, portable atomic clocks, and ultra-sensitive, low-cost medical diagnostic devices. The AIM Photonics Institute is an international leader in developing this technology of the future, which we do from facilities in Albany NY and on Lake Avenue here in Rochester. This past June, the Institute marked its 10-year anniversary as a non-profit public-private partnership. This presentation will touch on an amazing technology, on what that tech means for daily life (and for some major social trends), and on the Institute’s role in growing the US photonic industry.
