Tuesday Luncheon Meeting

September 23 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

We will be meeting back at the Comedy @ The Carlson for our Tuesday, September 23rd luncheon. We are so excited to announce that we will be utilizing their new space, The Carlson, right next door.  Please use the entrance ramp near the new patio.

The Business Case for Climate Action: Moderated by Abigail McHugh-Grifa, Executive Director of Climate Solutions Accelerator.

Climate change is both a threat and an opportunity for businesses here in the Rochester region, and understanding the pros and cons of different climate solutions can be a complex challenge. This panel of sustainability experts will describe how they approach this challenge and why they believe climate action is worth the investment.

Meet the Panelists:

  • Abigail McHugh-Grifa is the Executive Director of the Climate Solutions Accelerator of the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region and a member of New York State’s Climate Justice Working Group.
  • Kathryn Walker is the Executive Director of the Center for Sustainable Materials Management, where she leads statewide efforts to build a circular economy and reduce waste. She also serves on the boards of the NYS Product Stewardship Council and Rochester Ecology Partners, advancing community connections to nature and climate solutions.
  • Trish Donohue is the Director of Global Sustainability at Bausch + Lomb Corporation where she is responsible for setting sustainability strategy for the company.  She was previously with the New York State Pollution Prevention Institute at RIT and Xerox Corporation.
  • Mark Maddalina, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, is a Principal Architect and the Sustainable Design Director at SWBR. Mark champions sustainability for the firm and oversees their participation in the AIA 2030 Commitment, as the firm seeks to design carbon neutral building projects by 2030, and his portfolio includes many certified LEED buildings.
  • George McConochie co-founded GreenSpark Solar in 2002 and, as COO, has overseen its growth into a nationally ranked clean energy company—recognized as the #1 Community Solar EPC in the country, a perennial Top Workplace, and one of Rochester’s fastest growing businesses.
