Rochester Police Department Sergeant Brett Sobieraski was recognized with the Henry H. Jensen Memorial Award during Rochester Rotary’s 19th annual Law Day luncheon on May 7, 2019.

Upon his passing, Henry Jensen designated that an award be presented annually to one of the Rochester Police Department’s “unsung heroes.” The award has been presented annually since 1936.

Sgt. Sobieraski has served in law enforcement for more than 30 years. His community service includes raising more than $80,000 for such organizations as the Veterans Outreach Center, New York State Olympics, the Mahoney Family (Former RPD Sergeant Bill Mahoney), Huntington Disease, the All in All the Time Foundation and the Rochester Police Foundation.

The Law Day luncheon also provides an opportunity for Rochester Rotarians to recognize local law enforcement members for the work they do every day to protect area citizens.
