DESCRIPTION:Join us at Locust Hill Country Club on Tuesday\, May 9th for our 10th installment of our Made in Rochester Series.  Michael Laiacona Founder\, Owner\, and President of Whirlwind Music Distributors will be speaking to our club. Michael is a 2020 Rochester Music Hall of Fame Inductee. \nWhirlwind Music Distributors has kept the biggest rock tours and major events worldwide wired for 45 years — all from its headquarters in Greece\, N.Y. The hometown company\, founded and owned by Michael Laiacona\, manufactures the world’s largest range of professional audio lighting and AC power interfacing products. In short\, they are the guys that connect everything — from the guitar cord to the splitter snakes to the broadcast truck to the road cases they’re truck-packed in\, to the portable power distribution that makes it all possible. \nClients using Whirlwind cables and connectors include The Pentagon\, the White House\, NASA\, Disney World\, major league sports stadiums and arenas\, and rockers like Cheap Trick\, Bruce Springsteen\, the Rolling Stones\, and Tedeschi Trucks Band. \nLaiacona started Whirlwind in 1975 after helping launch MXR\, a company that made effects pedals for guitars\, creating a variety of new and altered sounds heard on nearly every album recorded in the 1970s. DESCRIPTION:Join us at Locust Hill Country Club for another installment of our “Made in Rochester” series. This week we will be joined by Trey Socash\, Vice President of Bears Playgrounds\, nature-inspired playgrounds\, and other products that enhance children’s environments. \nTrey Socash grew up in the Adirondacks\, living in a log home in Old Forge\, NY with his parents and three siblings. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Rochester. \nWith the combination of his passion for the outdoors and his background in mechanical engineering\, Trey took a role as office manager at Bears Playgrounds starting in 2013. He worked on the day to day operations of the business\, as well as playground design. Today\, Trey is the Vice president of Bears playgrounds\, continuing to help grow their business under their mission statement: \n“to create fantastic\, nature inspired playgrounds and other products which enhance children’s environments.” \nBears Playgrounds designs\, manufactures and installs nature-inspired\, cedar log playgrounds across the US\, Canada and beyond.
