SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this exciting Tuesday luncheon with the founder and owner of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que\, John Stage. We will be meeting and eating at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que located at 99 Court Street in Rochester. Rochester Rotarian\, Paul Guglielmo will be interviewing John. \n  \nJohn Stage\, the founder and owner of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que\, began his career in cooking out on the open road. In 1983\, John and two partners started the business by cutting a 55 gallon drum in half to form a makeshift barbeque and hit the road—catering to motorcycle shows\, fairs\, and festivals up and down the east coast. In 1988\, tired of the gypsy lifestyle\, Stage decided to settle in Syracuse\, NY\, where he opened his first Dinosaur Bar-B-Que restaurant. In the following years\, Stage has expanded with locations in Rochester\, Manhattan\, Troy\, Newark\, New Jersey\, Brooklyn and Buffalo. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que has gained a reputation far and wide for serving some of the best BBQ in the country with a vibrant and lively setting. \n  \nThis luncheon now open to Rochester Rotarians and guests

SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Marisa Geitner\, President and CEO of Heritage Christan Services will be joining speaking to our club on Tuesday\, May 16th at Locust Hill Country Club. \nMarisa Geitner\, who will be celebrating 30 years with the organization in June\, began her career at Heritage Christian Services by working directly with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her hard work and dedication to our mission were crucial to the agency’s growth and her continued development as a leader. Since 2013\, she has served as president and C.E.O. \nCare jobs\, including roles like nurse’s aides\, nursing home workers\, direct support professionals\, child care workers\, and home health aides\, are projected to experience rapid growth in the United States\, with a 25% increase by 2031\, which is five times faster than most other jobs. The demand for long-term care is expected to surge as the aging population and life expectancy rise\, potentially reaching 27 million people in need by 2050. These jobs require the uniquely human quality of compassion and cannot be replaced by robots or artificial intelligence. To foster positive change\, it is crucial that we invest in the caring professions by providing competitive wages that enable self-sufficiency\, good benefits\, and retirement plans. Transforming the financial drivers in this field is essential to bring about the necessary improvements. \n  \nIf you are planning on attending this luncheon please fill out the form below:

SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Locust Hill Country Club on Tuesday\, May 9th for our 10th installment of our Made in Rochester Series.  Michael Laiacona Founder\, Owner\, and President of Whirlwind Music Distributors will be speaking to our club. Michael is a 2020 Rochester Music Hall of Fame Inductee. \nWhirlwind Music Distributors has kept the biggest rock tours and major events worldwide wired for 45 years — all from its headquarters in Greece\, N.Y. The hometown company\, founded and owned by Michael Laiacona\, manufactures the world’s largest range of professional audio lighting and AC power interfacing products. In short\, they are the guys that connect everything — from the guitar cord to the splitter snakes to the broadcast truck to the road cases they’re truck-packed in\, to the portable power distribution that makes it all possible. \nClients using Whirlwind cables and connectors include The Pentagon\, the White House\, NASA\, Disney World\, major league sports stadiums and arenas\, and rockers like Cheap Trick\, Bruce Springsteen\, the Rolling Stones\, and Tedeschi Trucks Band. \nLaiacona started Whirlwind in 1975 after helping launch MXR\, a company that made effects pedals for guitars\, creating a variety of new and altered sounds heard on nearly every album recorded in the 1970s. Among Laiacona’s customers was John Lennon\, who thanked him personally for the inventive product. \n  \nMore about Whirlwind \n  \nPlease use the form below if you are planning on attending this luncheon

SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Robin Flanigan\, Author of the newly released book “100 Things to do in Rochester Before You Die\,” will be joining us at Oak Hill Country Club on Tuesday\, April 25th. \nRobin L. Through stories and a trivia game\, hear about some obvious and obscure picks that made the cut\, a few mistakes that thankfully did not\, and how her research caught the attention of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! \nUse the form below to sign up for this luncheon:
