DESCRIPTION:We will be honoring Howard Konar\, our 84th Rotary Award Recipient on Wednesday\, September 28th at the George Eastman Museum. \n  \nHoward has served as a trustee with several organizations\, including Monroe Community College and the George Eastman House\, and as a board chair of the Monroe Community College Foundation. He also has served on the boards of economic development\, affordable housing\, and Jewish community organizations. \nBeginning in 1988\, Howard led the fundraising efforts for an endowed chair in Holocaust Genocide Studies at Monroe Community College\, the first of its kind at any Community College in the United States.  In 2008 he was appointed by President George W. DESCRIPTION:Tour the Rochester Museum and Science Center on Thursday\, September 15th at 4:30 pm. \n  \nOn April 8\, 2024\, Rochester\, New York will experience a total solar eclipse. Our region sits directly in the path of totality and will experience 3 minutes and 38 seconds of complete totality! \n  \nBased on observations from the 2017 eclipse\, conservative estimates expect Rochester to welcome at least 375\,000 visitors to the area for the eclipse in addition to the 1.1 million residents across the Greater Rochester Region. \n  \nSince 2019\, the RMSC has been co-leading a regional Eclipse Task Force with local partners to ensure that the entire region can meet the incredible demand and opportunities associated with this once-in-a-lifetime event. Dr. Bazarian will discuss current concepts in concussion management including blood testing\, brain scanning\, hyperbaric oxygen\, nutritional supplements\, brain cooling\, and return to play protocols. \nDr. Bazarian is an emergency physician with an active concussion clinic and research program. He has served on several traumatic brain injury-related task forces and panels for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\, the National Institutes of Health\, the National Science Foundation\, and the Institute of Medicine. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a  fun day out at Wickham Farms\, located in Penfield\, NY. Their famous corn maze will hold tribute to the Sunshine Camp this year and want everyone from the Sunshine Camp community to come out on Friday\, August 26th to celebrate. Registration will be from 12-2 pm. The farm is open until 7 pm and you will have access to all of the fun activities the farm has to offer!  This is a great event for the whole family! \nClick here for a list of activities. \nIf you purchased tickets to attend on the 26th you can claim that at the box office at the farm.

DESCRIPTION:We will celebrate President Kathleen at her reception on Wednesday\, August 17th from 5-7 pm. We will be gathering at Wickham farms located at 1315 Sweets Corner Road in Penfield. We have a beautiful view overlooking the sunflower fields at sunset! We recommend you wear flat shoes. \n  \nCost $25 per person. \nFor an extra cost\, you can make your own flower bouquets at the event.
