SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Locust Hill Country Club for another installment of our “Made in Rochester” series. This week we will be joined by Trey Socash\, Vice President of Bears Playgrounds\, nature-inspired playgrounds\, and other products that enhance children’s environments. \nTrey Socash grew up in the Adirondacks\, living in a log home in Old Forge\, NY with his parents and three siblings. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Rochester. \nWith the combination of his passion for the outdoors and his background in mechanical engineering\, Trey took a role as office manager at Bears Playgrounds starting in 2013. He worked on the day to day operations of the business\, as well as playground design. Today\, Trey is the Vice president of Bears playgrounds\, continuing to help grow their business under their mission statement: \n“to create fantastic\, nature inspired playgrounds and other products which enhance children’s environments.” \nBears Playgrounds designs\, manufactures and installs nature-inspired\, cedar log playgrounds across the US\, Canada and beyond. Every playground is made custom to order\, using whole round logs. \nWith our playgrounds\, we have created a balance between the innocent\, natural adventure of playing in the forest and the structure and safety required by today’s standards for children’s spaces. Our bold\, strong and built to last architecture beautifies children’s spaces\, while capturing a child’s imagination. Our nature inspired products and natural materials help stimulate a child’s enthusiasm for nature. In short\, our products facilitate learning\, create opportunities for exercise\, help build social skills and help provide a unique connection to the great outdoors. \n  \nIf you plan on attending this luncheon please use the form below to sign up. \nOops! SUMMARY:DEI Breakfast Briefing
DESCRIPTION:The DEI Committee invites you to the Q4 Breakfast Briefing\, Moving from Equality to Equity. Whereas diversity refers to all the many ways that people differ\, equality is giving individuals or groups of people the same thing in the same way. Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances and allocates resources and opportunities in a way that creates fair access\, opportunity\, and advancement for all people while at the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers. \n  \nJoin us for an informative discussion led by Series facilitator\, Kesha Carter\, Chief Diversity Officer at Coordinated Care Services\, Inc. on equitable practices that ‘level the playing field’ so that fairness happens along the path to success. \n  \nPlease use the form below to sign up! \n  \n\n  \nAs a Club\, Rochester Rotary strives to create and maintain an experience for members and participants that reflects our fundamental core values of service\, fellowship\, diversity\, integrity\, and leadership\, empowers people to contribute at their fullest potential\, and celebrates people as they are to foster a diverse\, equitable\, and inclusive environment for all. DEI educational sessions provide ongoing competency-building through education\, practice\, reflection\, and intentionality. This strengthens our Club\, creates an opportunity for participants to incorporate the learning in their businesses\, and paves the way for attracting new members

SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at noon at Oak Hill Country Club for a political forum with La’Ron Singletary and Joe Morelle\, moderated by Adam Chodak. You must be a Rochester Rotarian or guest of a Rochester Rotarian to attend. We will not be recording this meeting. \nLa’Ron Singletary was born and raised in Rochester\, New York and is a graduate of the Rochester City School District.  Growing up\, La’Ron was taught that hard work\, plus sacrifice\, would equate to success.  Education was important in the Singletary household. However\, it was also understood that entering a vocation after high school was just as important as he and his sibling began to navigate adulthood.  The dream of his parents were to give their children a better chance at the future\, while striving to leave future generations better than the current. \nJoe Morelle was born and raised in Upstate New York and has lived in the same Irondequoit neighborhood for most of his life. The son of a Korean war veteran and lifelong Plumbers and Pipefitters union member\, Joe learned early on from his parents the value of hard work and the principles of honesty and integrity. These ideals led him to pursue public service\, where he has represented our community first in the County Legislature\, then in the New York State Assembly as Majority Leader\, and now in the United States House of Representatives where he serves on the Budget\, Education and Labor\, and Rules committees. \n  \nYou must have made a reservation to attend. Please call the Rochester Rotary Office at 585-546-7435 to see if there is room available. \n  \nThis meeting is open to Rochester Rotarians and their guests only.
