SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Oak Hill Country Club for a panel discussion on the upcoming Buffalo Bills Season! Thad Brown\, Scott Pitoniak and Tim Cook will be presenting to our club. \n  \nCan the Bills win the Super Bowl after a dramatic roster makeover? \nSuperstar quarterback Josh Allen is back and in the prime of his career at age 28\, but the Buffalo Bills underwent some dramatic roster changes in the off-season\, with the departure of standouts such as record-setting wide receiver Stefon Diggs\, reliable center Mitch Morse\, and the best safety tandem in franchise history\, Jordan Poyer and Micha Hyde. But many talented players return and it will be interesting to see their evolution\, as well of the performances of some rookie and free-agent newcomers.

SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Oak Hill Country Club with guest speaker Kitty Van Bortel\, Founder and owner of the Van Bortel Group. \nShe began her career as a young woman facing adversity in the male-dominated car business\, but that didn’t stop her from pursuing career goals. Kitty persevered with determination\, drive\, and her ability to take care of customers. She proved that she could be a sales manager but eventually saw through the glass ceiling and knew the only way to continue her pursuit of professional growth was to do it on her own. \nIn 1985\, with an investment of only $500\, Kitty began her used car dealership in the front yard of a rented house on Route 96 in Victor\, NY.  In 1991\, Kitty opened the doors to Van Bortel Subaru\, which soon became one of the largest Subaru retailers in the nation.

SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Vincent Lenti\, retired from Eastman School of Music will present “Why the Eastman School of Music and Eastman Theatre ended up at Main and Gibbs in downtown Rochester…and the Consequences of That Decision” \nGeorge Eastman’s vision of providing the University of Rochester with a major music school and a magnificent theater was a topic of widespread interest throughout the country when the school first opened its doors in 1921. That institution and its adjoining theater\, however\, were not constructed to be a part of existing university buildings on what was known as the Prince Street Campus. Instead\, they were placed about a half-mile away on Main Street at the intersection of Gibbs Street. Fifty years later\, the central administration of the university made serious efforts to abandon the downtown Rochester buildings and build a new home for the Eastman School at its River Campus. Such efforts prompted widespread opposition and ultimately failed\, and the school and theater remained where George Eastman intended them to be. Yet\, there is reason to speculate that the original decision concerning the location of the school and theater may have been ill-advised to the detriment of the school as well as the City of Rochester. My presentation will present a basic outline concerning this question of location\, as well as suggesting a completely different scenario had priorities been more clearly understood more than one hundred years ago. \n  \nUse the form below if you plan to attend this meeting:

DESCRIPTION:Join us at Oak Hill Country Club to hear from guest speaker\, Karen Iglesia of Prime Time 585. \n  \nAbout Prime Time 585: \nIn 2005 we founded a free basketball camp for high school boys. Starting with 29 boys\, we grew to 80 boys and 40 girls in 2021. To date\, we have served over 1\,500 players. \nIn 2019 we began to create video coverage of local high school sports\, on social media (at that time\, 718 followers on Twitter and Facebook). Today\, we have nearly 17\,000 followers across Instagram\, Facebook\, and Twitter\, and we are widely recognized as a vehicle for showcasing the talent of local athletes. \nWe have discovered that sports provide a unique opportunity to bring together young adults and law enforcement\, creating a shared vision of opportunities to fight racism and poverty. \nToday\, athletes and fans from the city and suburbs come together to help\, providing Thanksgiving dinners and holiday toys and coats to those in need.   \nIn our upcoming event Hoopers and Troopers\, we will break down the barriers that exist between young people and law enforcement in a friendly competition in which everyone wins. \n  \nIf you are planning on attending this meeting please use the form below to sign up:
