SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Steve Hess\, Holocaust survivor\, will be sitting down with past club president\, Don Alhart\, for this interview-style presentation. \nSteven Hess (Stefan) and his twin\, Marion\, were born in Amsterdam\, Holland on January 14\, 1938\, two years after their parents fled Nazi Germany for the presumed safety of the Netherlands. \nAfter the Nazi invasion on May 10\, 1940\, the Jewish family was eventually rounded up and sent first to the Westerbork deportation camp and\, later\, from there to the infamous Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. In late April 1945\, after two weeks on a cattle car train\, later remembered in history as “The Lost Transport\,” they were liberated by Russian troops near the village of Tröbitz in eastern Germany. Of the approximately 2\,500 prisoners on the train\, more than 600 died on the train or shortly thereafter. He and his sister are the only still living twins of Bergen-Belsen and arguably of any concentration camp. The family eventually returned to Holland. They immigrated to the United States\, arriving in New York on January 1\, 1947. \n  \nYou do not want to miss out on this amazing story. Please use the form below to register. \n  \n\n

SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Locust Hill Country Club to hear guest speaker Jon Morse present “Life Lessons Learned From Aircraft Crashes.” \nThe purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate how simple mistakes made by pilots\, mechanics\, or parts manufacturers can cause aircraft accidents\, and how to avoid the same types of mistakes in our personal and professional lives \nAs an attorney for almost 50 years\, Jon has handled numerous aircraft lawsuits and has seen just about every mistake made that can cause an aircraft accident. He graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.  After working for McDonnell Douglas Corporation as a Flight Test Engineer\, and before becoming an attorney\, he was a charter pilot. As an aviation attorney\, he has developed a niche practice defending pilots\, mechanics\, and aircraft parts manufacturers after an accident. He has handled the defense of aviation related lawsuits in 20 states and 3 foreign countries. \nUse the form below to register.

SUMMARY:Tuesday Luncheon Meeting
DESCRIPTION:On July 21st\, Rochester Rotary will welcome Rick Plympton\, Former CEO of Optimax Systems\, Inc.\, for a presentation titled “Start a Business – Leave a Legacy.” \nRick will share the story of how Optimax\, a world leader in high-precision optics manufacturing\, approached succession planning in a way that protected the company’s future\, strengthened its employees\, and kept its impact rooted in the local community. \nAfter years of intentional planning\, Rick and his business partner\, Mike Mandina\, converted Optimax to an Employee Ownership Trust in 2020. Their goal was not simply to create an exit plan\, but to build a lasting structure that would ensure Optimax would never be sold\, employees would continue to share in the company’s success\, and the business would remain a source of jobs\, innovation\, and opportunity for decades to come. \nRick’s message is a powerful reminder that succession planning is not only about what happens when an owner leaves. It is also about what remains: the people\, the culture\, the jobs\, the shared prosperity\, and the legacy a business leaves behind. \n  \nUse the form below to register for this luncheon. \n\n\n \n Name(Required)\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Non-eater\n \n \n I understand I will be charged the $10 non-eater fee\n Guest Names Add RemoveDietary NeedsPlease let us know if you have anything fineable\n \n I have a fine
