DESCRIPTION:Join Rochester Rotarian Joe Cicero at Artisan Works on Tuesday\, June 10th\, from 6 – 8 pm as he presents Art That Heals Through Chaos \nLight appetizers and a cash bar will be available. \nJoe Cicero is an artist based in Rochester\, NY\, who uses his work as a form of healing and reflection. His bold\, surreal imagery blends cartoon\, impressionist\, and street art styles to explore themes of trauma\, identity\, mental health\, and memory. \nHis work has been shown across Rochester\, with an upcoming show at Artisan Works on June 10\, where he’ll debut new pieces that dive deeper into themes of resilience\, mental health\, and emotional survival. This global initiative beautifully reflects our shared commitment to building a culture of peace and understanding across borders. \nA Peace Pole is more than just a monument—it’s a beacon of hope\, displaying the heartfelt message\, “May Peace Prevail on Earth\,” in the language of its host country and several others. Our District’s Peace Pole will proudly feature this message in 14 different languages\, each representing and honoring our 14 inbound Youth Exchange students for Rotary Year 2024-25. Each language and flag is a tribute to the rich diversity and unity that Rotary stands for. \nWith over 250\,000 Peace Poles standing as monuments to peace in every country around the globe\, each one serves as an affirmation of our commitment to harmony\, understanding\, and friendship among all people. The message\, authored by Masahisa Goi of Japan after the tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki\, has become a universal call for peace. \nYou’re Invited! \nThe Rochester Rotary International Service Committee is excited to bring this vision to life in our own community!
